Connect MCP accounts

Sign in to MCP tool servers so agents can use the right external account.

Connect your MCP account before you enable an MCP integration on an agent. The account connection proves who the tool should act as when the agent uses it.

Open MCP Connections.

Connect a new account

  1. Open MCP

    Go to MCP under Connect.

  2. Find the server

Use Search integrations or connections... or filter by Not connected.

  3. Connect new account

Click Connect new account for the server.

  4. Name the connection

In New connection, enter Name. Use a clear label such as Personal, Work, or Client A.

Name the MCP connection so it is easy to pick later from an agent.
  5. Continue and authorise

Click Continue. Complete the external Connect step if a popup opens, then return to Automate.

After the connection succeeds, the MCP page shows the server as connected.

Manage an MCP connection

Open the row menu to manage existing MCP connections.

ActionUse it when
Re-connectThe account expired or the tool server asks for authorisation again
RenameThe label no longer tells users which account this is
Set as defaultThis should be the default connection when an agent asks which account to use
DeleteYou no longer want this MCP account available

Why naming matters

Agents can have more than one possible MCP connection. Clear names help builders pick the right account later in Configure → Tools → MCP Integrations.

Good names:

  • Work Gmail MCP
  • Client A Notion
  • Personal testing

Avoid names like new, test, or main once the connection is used in a shared agent.

If Connect new account is missing

Some custom MCP servers use shared admin credentials. Those servers may not show Connect new account on the MCP page. Ask a SuperAdmin how access is managed for that server.
